Genre Information
Sometimes genres can cross over to many different ones. I try to keep them in the category they are most like. Some genres are very similar and I do my best to pick what is most appropriate. Here are some insights to some of the genres and what you can expect
Romance - This will be a variety from rom com to sports to more emotional. If you have a specific thing you are looking for please reach out. These may or may not be spicy.
Dark Genres - These normally tend to have many TW and reading is at your own discretion. Please do not choose a dark genre if you are not familiar with it.
Romances vs Non Romances - Genres with romance with it means romance is a part of the plot. While non romances may not be a huge plot point there still may be romance in the book.
Fantasy vs Paranormal - These tend to intertwine. I try my best to keep them separated but both of these may have aspects of the other.
Horror vs Splatterpunk - Splatterpunk is an extreme horror genre. Please do not pick splatterpunk if you do not read this genre. It is extremely dark.
YA vs Non YA (YA=Young Adult) - Sometimes there is a thin line between the two. If you are looking for something lower YA please reach out to me.
LGBTQ+ - These books have LGBTQ representation. Sometimes that does not mean it is the main character. If they are not FF or MM these are general ones and it could be either or a representation somewhere in the book.
Spicy - I try to keep them "explicit open door" which does not mean that the whole book is completely spice. If you are looking for something specific please let me know.
Special Editions - These come fro popular book boxes. If you are a book box subscriber please reach out to me before ordering to make sure you do not have the edition. These editions can be sprayed edges, signed, special covers, ect.
Types of Books
Indie and Traditionally published - You may get either one. You may have never heard of the author or the book. If you are looking for a popular book or author please see our Booktok Favorite listing. We work with a lot of newer, but amazing, Indie Authors!
Ratings - Ratings are subjective. We try to stay with books that have at least a 3.5 star rating on Goodreads. sometimes books fall below this rating after being purchased so it is not guaranteed.
NEW BOOKS - All our books are brand new but may contain remainder marks (black or red marking on bottom pages) and sometimes stickers. We do not remove stickers on the book so they do not get damaged.
Stand Alone - All books can be read as a stand alone. If you is in the middle of s series that's because it can be read as a stand alone and the other books do not need to be read.
Novella - Normally books under 15o pages

Blind date with a book is meant to be a fun experience! If you are looking for a book cheaper than store prices you will not find that here. We work hard to bring a fun reading experience to readers, To maybe find an author you have never heard of or step out of your comfort zone and read something you normally wouldn’t pick up for yourself. While we do strive to make every experience perfect, we do make mistakes. These books are wrapped in paper. Ripping of paper may occur during shipment. If you have any issues please reach out to me ASAP.

In-stock "Ready to Ship" orders will be shipped via USPS from our supplier within 3-5 business days.
Pre-orders can take up to 6 weeks to arrive! Please pay close attention to the product description for the estimated arrival date. Pre-ordered items will not be refunded due to the wait time!
You will receive a shipping confirmation email containing a tracking number once your item has shipped. Please allow up to 24-48 hours for your package to be scanned and for your tracking status to be updated.
The Dapper Squirrel Boutique is not responsible for any lost or stolen packages.
If a package is returned due to an incorrect address, you will be responsible for the shipping cost to get it to you. If you believe you have entered the wrong address, please get in touch with us immediately via email.
Return & Refund Policy
We have a 15-day return policy, which means you have 15 days after receiving your item to request a return or exchange.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition you received it – unworn, unused, with tags, and in the original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.
📧 To start a return, email us at thedappersquirrelboutique@gmail.com. Once approved, we’ll send you a return shipping label and instructions. Items sent back without prior approval will not be accepted.
🚨 DAMAGED OR DEFECTIVE ITEMS
If your item arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, please contact us immediately.
- Defective, damaged, or wrong items will be refunded to your original form of payment (credit card, PayPal, etc.) once we verify the issue.
📏 WRONG SIZE OR DOESN’T FIT?
If you ordered the wrong size or simply need a different fit:
- Your return will be refunded as a store credit (gift card) — NOT to your original payment method.
- Store credits never expire and can be used on any future purchase.
🚫 EXCEPTIONS / NON-RETURNABLE ITEMS
Certain items cannot be returned, including:
- Sale items
- Gift cards
- Custom or personalized products
- Beauty/personal care goods
- Hazardous materials (flammable liquids, gases, etc.)

The fastest way to get the size you need is to return the item for a store credit gift card and place a new order.
✅ REFUNDS
- Defective items = refunded back to the original payment method.
- Wrong-size items = refunded as a gift card only.
